Crazy beginnings to a New Year

It has been a while since my last post, perhaps time has gotten the best of me. My husband and I have been involved with our home renovation, picking out colors for our kitchen cabinets, walls and counters and then finding the most appropriate tile to compliment it altogether.
I have also been working on my studies as well as teach a puppy potty training.
And to top it all off, I have not even sewn a bit! Sad, I know! Most nights as I unwind, thinking and reflecting while I wash my face- I think OMG I have not sewn yet on my new sewing machine. I mean come on Keri- what's wrong with you? I bought a new cover for my Janome over the weekend at the Walla Walla Sew and Vac shop in the cute downtown corner! I should slap myself on the hands for neglecting my sewing machine! But with limited time- when is a good time to sew- I can sew in the morning or my pups and husband would be crabby! Then in the evening, its dinner, working out, studying, reading, cleaning, laundry, and remodeling our house! Aghhhh---- just thinking of it is stressing me out! Oh and did I mention I have a 40 hour full time job in which I desirably enjoy (barfing sounds and sarcasm have all of a sudden taken over) LOL...

Well back to work- miss ya Janome- I promise we will spend some time together this weekend!

Fabric

So as mentioned earlier I decided upon my first sewing adventure- a must needed purse essential organizer! So last night as the weather took a turn for the worse, my husband and I headed into town to grab some items at Wal-Mart- so with that, I of course headed to their fabric department and searched for two patterns - of course they had to compliment one another and stumbled across both of these. I gathered enough to take the left overs and create something for my pupster- Cinny! Of course she will adore it, anything to keep her warm!

My husband and I have a ton to do, but I will make sure to fit in some sewing! We are working on our home, we tore up our carpet and will be laying down pine wood floors in our entry, living room, and of course our hall ways- afterward we want to start working on our trim and then start putting together our living room! It's been a crazy month- but we will get it all accomplished- we have a three day weekend!

Happy New Year

It was a very low key celebratory evening- due to the weather, my husband and I opted to stay in- we are very fortunate to have some neighbors that work with my husband and so I made some desert and brought over some bubbly and had a good time!
I hope everyone had a safe and joyous time and that your resolutions are not too difficult to fullfill. I of course always mention something about taking care of myself- but instead I wished for continuing my education, adopting a new puppy, finish our house remodel and of course- cherish and show my appreciation towards my husband and family.

Here's to wishing everyone a Happy and Joyous New Year!
